SC: RegroupingRyu woke up with a start and was instantly smothered in Evangeline’s soft fur. “Oh Ryu, you’re awake. We were starting to get really worried about you.” The motherly Mip cooed and stroked Ryu’s head soothingly. Ryu attempted to escape, but the Mip held on tight and continued cuddling her. “What happened? How did I get back here?” She did her best to look around. “Is Arch okay?” Evangeline loosened her hold on Ryu so she wasn’t being smothered any more, though she still hugged the Copybara close. “Arch is fine, dear. He’s keeping watch with Shika right now. You and Arch got very lucky, Zarcon lost interest in going after you when you fell into that hole. Arch was able to get you back here with Shika’s help.” “Shika?” Ryu asked. “Yes he’s a Trottoga. Apparently you landed on his head when you fell.” Evangeline laughed. “He’s a nice boy. I think A
SC: The Fiend of the Forest~What do I do?~ The skull and cross-bone shaped pupils of the hybrid bore into Ryu, keeping her rooted to the spot. ~What do I do?~ The monster bird turned in flight and started her descent, talons outstretched to snatch Ryu up. Panic kick-started Ryu into action, the instincts from her new form driving her to copy and execute the same move she'd seen the hybrid use against Arch. How she pulled it off, she couldn't say. Her mind was too panicked to remember those kinds of details. Her copycat tail blade knocked the monster bird off course, her talons grasping at air mere inches from Ryu’s head feathers. The hybrid flapped her wings to angle herself for another strike. Arch had managed to regain his feet during this time and started taunting the hybrid with obscenities to draw her attention away from Ryu and back onto him. The hybrid slashed at him with her sickle claws. Arch was prepared for the attack this time and was able to jump around the blow and regroup w
SC: Dangers of the ForestRyu followed Arch through a path in the woods with the intent on scouting out the area. Arch had told Ryu that he was a treasure hunter of sorts and traveled often in search of relics and forging materials. This was his first time in the forest region however. The two were awkwardly silent as they walked, both uncertain of how to talk to each other after their conversation the night before. Ryu was still reeling from learning the history of the trolls and the story of Caligula as a hero amongst troll-kind. Arch was trying to determine if Ryu was telling the truth of how she got out here and whether or not she was crazy or deluded.Arch looked back at Ryu and let out a sigh. "Look, listen. You don't have to accept what I told you. Just know that carelessly stating such views could get you in trouble.""I understand. I'll be careful.” Ryu responded. "Would you...still help me look for the others?""Would they all tell me the same story?" Arch asked with a raised brow."Probably..."
SC: Getting to Know...Arch led the small group to an abandoned den dug under a tree so that they could have a safe place to sleep for the night. Night was a dangerous time to be out in the forest since that was when the bigger trolls came out to hunt. There were stories that were told of the Sneak Wraiths that wandered the woods at night, stealing the identities of any traveler foolish enough to wander at night. The story was believable enough to be cautious about it. Once they were all settled in, Arch fixed his penetrating gaze on Ryu."I want to hear the rest of your story." He stated. "You said you were looking for your friends?"Ryu nodded. "Yes...uh..." She wondered on the best way to say this. Would Evangeline smother her with hugs again if she made the claim that her friends were humans who'd all turned into trolls? Or was there a possibility that they were still human and only she changed into a troll due to her long term exposure to the Mad King's virus? Arch tapped his claws impatiently. "J
